Hypergene acquires the German SaaS company Proventis GmbH
The Swedish SaaS company Hypergene has acquired Proventis GmbH, a German SaaS company whose product Blue Ant delivers a comprehensive solution for project portfolio and resource management. The acquisition strengthens Hypergene’s planning, follow-up, and analysis offering and establishes the company as a Northern European player positioned for continued expansion and profitable growth.
Hypergene’s cloud-based solution for corporate performance management has a large customer base in both the private and public sectors. However, until now the company has focused on the Sweden and Norway markets, where most of its customers are based.
By acquiring the German SaaS company Proventis GmbH, Hypergene's offer strengthens further with the product Blue Ant, which offers customers a comprehensive project portfolio and resource management solution. Founded in 2001, Proventis currently has around 37 employees based in Berlin and Cologne and an annual turnover of 3,4 million euros. The company serves a wide range of customers across Germany, Sweden, Austria, Poland, and Switzerland – including global names such as Porsche and Bosch.
“Through its outstanding product and competent employees, Proventis will strengthen our business and enable us to provide an attractive joint customer offering. Proventis has impressed us throughout the acquisition process, and we are delighted to welcome them into Hypergene. This acquisition represents a major step in our growth journey, transforming us from a Nordic company to a Northern European player with two highly complementary products,” says Urban Bucht, CEO of Hypergene.
Proventis will continue to operate as a separate company within the Hypergene Group. Blue Ant will be marketed separately under the existing brand, but its functionality will also be integrated into Hypergene’s solutions. In addition, the acquisition creates opportunities to expand both Blue Ant and Hypergene into new markets.
"We are pleased to become part of Hypergene. Its capabilities and solutions make a clear difference to customers, and we also appreciate the company's culture, leadership, and vision for the future. We are excited about creating a successful way forward together," says Norman Frischmuth, who continues as CEO at Proventis GmbH and, from now on, is also part of Hypergene's management team.
Hypergene AB has acquired 100% of the shares in Proventis GmbH, and the parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
Hypergene is undergoing strong and profitable growth. The company’s 2022 turnover is forecast to be about 240 MSEK, with an EBITDA result of 10%. The company is a SaaS company with a high percentage of recurring revenue (ARR). Hypergene has 167 employees and offices in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö, Kalmar, Skövde, and Oslo.
